Welcome to the Beta Theta chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, 1100 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS 66044.

Santa Harrison saves the day

Thanks to Phil "Santa" Harrison for springing into action as soon as he learned that the chapter house burst a pipe in the third floor bathroom. Phil immediately came by the house and personally funded some of the needed repairs. More repairs are surely needed, but it is too soon to tell the extent.

Santa's springing into action is especially impressive given (1) that the weater in Lawrence was crap and (2) Phil was supposed to be headed to physical therapy for his injured foot.

2008 Brotherhood Loyalty Fund Report

Brothers,

The 2007-08 Brotherhood Loyalty Fund report is attached below. That report shows who donated, what level of donation they made, and what that money went to in the last fiscal year. (If you don't see the attachment, then you need to login to this site which requires permission and proof that you're a Beta Theta member. That step ensures that your names and donation amounts are not shared with the public viewing this site.)

Linkedin facilitates brother-to-brother communication.

It is not a bulletin board for information. It is not a newsletter. It is not one way information. It is not a web site. Linkedin is a web tool to facilitate relationship and fellowship.

Linkedin is helping us stay connected. It helps you build new and renew existing relationships. It furthers Brotherhood.

We use Linkedin because it integrates with our professional life. The content on Linkedin is only professional.

Homecoming is on!

Well, actually, Homecoming is nearly over, but tons of guys were here this year. The Hawks got shredded by Texas Tech, but at least the old guys won the golf tournament, yeah! I think it was John Kubitzki and Rick Little who dethroned the two-time champs Travis Koehring and Shane Hauschild.

Right now there is a big yellow trailer containing a stage being set up on the front lawn. It is for an upcoming video game called Garage Band that is similar to Guitar Hero, and the company launching the game has brought their trailer to the Phi Tau house for Homecoming.

2008 Homecoming details

Brothers,

I'm attaching the details for this year's Homecoming -- which happens to be our chapter's 60th anniversary. See you on October 24th and 25th!

Alumni Work Day: June 14

Let's start a new tradition.

On Saturday June 14, starting around 8:30 a.m., we'll have an alumni work day. The house manager has prepared a wish list of repairs, cleaning, painting and all the other routine things that are necessary to maintain our great chapter house. He just needs our help.

A number of brothers have already signed-up, but we need you.
