The men of Phi Kappa Tau consistently post grades higher than the University all-men's average. That's a given.
For the spring 2007 semester, the chapter scored a 3.20 GPA, third highest among all fraternities on the Hill. That's higher than the all-fraternity average of 3.03 and higher than the all-sorority average of 3.16. And what did all KU men post last semester? A GPA of 2.89.
At KU, members of fraternities and sororities have traditionally achieved
higher grade point averages than non-Greek students. Why? Because
fraternities provide direct, personal academic support to their members.
In 2006, Brothers Tyler Dall, Dave Griffin and Nick Bartley won endowed scholarships from the national Phi Kappa Tau Foundation. These brothers made the KU chapter proud. Of the nine named scholarships awarded each year by the national Phi Tau foundation, three were won by KU members. Congratuations!
At this time last year, the chapter earned an Academic Excellence Award at the Phi Tau national convention. The chapter was one of only 14 Phi Kappa Tau chapters in the nation to receive such recognition.
