Damon W. Miller, '94

Our brother and friend, Damon W. Miller, 30, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006. He was diabetic and had wrestled with increased problems the past few years, but none of us expected that it would take him from us so soon.

Damon was the man behind our annual Homecoming golf tournament -- he won the tournament in October 2005 -- but he was so much more, a dedicated friend and brother, the national fraternity's Great Plains Domain Director -- no one was more committed to Phi Kappa Tau and the University of Kansas.

The funeral was Saturday, Feb. 18, at Ebenezer AME Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial was at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his father, Dr. Dennis Miller; and brother, Jared.

If you would like to make a donation, the family requests donations in Damon's name to Juvenile Diabetes, The Williams Fund at KU or the Hole in The Wall Camps via Phi Kappa Tau.

Kevin Keitzman, who does the "Between the Lines" afternoon show on radio station WHB-810 in Kansas City, spoke about Damon on the air.
