Beta Theta alumni newsletter

Here are two great ways to help Beta Theta grow:

1. Help recruit high school students
Any young man you know who plans to attend KU should be recruited to join Phi Kappa Tau. Of course, this can be your son or another family member. It could also be students who are friends of your family, sons of business associates and co-workers; and future Jayhawks you know from church, social clubs and organizations in your community.

2. Help recruit current KU students
Beta Theta has been effective in the past at recruiting current KU students. Many young men don't decide until after they have spent some time on campus that joining a fraternity is right for them. They are looking for the brotherhood and camaraderie that Beta Theta can give them. However, we have to know who these young men are. Let us know.

Beta Theta Brotherhood Loyalty Fund: Details of this are in the snail-mailed newsletter. If you didn't get a copy or lost yours, e-mail the alumni mailbox. This is a significant fund-raising effort of annual, unrestricted contributions to support all chapter operations. Contributions to this fund are not tax-deductible. The funds will go for a broad range of expenses, including such things as capital improvements at the chapter house, financing the annual Homecoming reception and underwriting house operating expenses. Make checks payable to Beta Theta of Phi Kappa Tau and send them to Beta Theta Alumni Chapter, P.O. Box 311, Topeka, KS 66601.

Donate NowContributions are tax-deductible through the Beta Theta Library Fund of the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation. Just click the button at right and you can contribute now. Be sure to type "Beta Theta Library Fund" in the box on the contribution form designating where your money should go. Contributions made this way are held by the national headquarters and can be spent only for limited purposes related to the chapter's educational mission, like improvements to the library, but not for more general needs like underwriting alumni events. You can contribute online with your credit card in amounts as little as $10, so everybody can pony up something. You also can send donations via snail mail, with checks made out to: Beta Theta of Phi Kappa Tau, c/o Patrick D. Martin, 2700 N. 102nd St., Kansas City, KS 66109. Put "Beta Theta Library Fund" in the memo line to ensure tax-deductibility.
