A Decade's Worth of Pickering Award Winners, Homecoming tease

Beta Theta is fortunate to have many outstanding alumni. So that at least one of those alums is formally recognized for their efforts each year, we have the “Pickering Award for Outstanding Alumni Commitment to Beta Theta.”

That award hangs in the chapter’s Jim Park Room, and shows these men as the last ten years’ Pickering Award winners:

Brian Kresin for 1999
Steve Bryant for 2000
Shaun Cronin for 2001
Chad King for 2002
Damon Miller for 2003
Jack McNeely for 2004
Kent Saylor for 2005
Steven Martino 2006
House Corporation for 2007
John Kubitzki for 2008

Of course, there are many more Pickering Award winners. If you’d like a chance to see some of those winners in person, be sure to make it to this year’s Homecoming on October 24 (golf and reception) and 25 (game day events).

As an added bonus, this year happens to be the 60th anniversary for Beta Theta! (Details to follow.)

Pickering Award

Well, first congratulations to John Kubitzki for being the 2008 Pickering Award winner. Second, I guess I need to look at things in the chapter room more carefully. I was unaware that I was the 2000 Pickering Award winner. Who's in charge of this anyway?

Steve Bryant

Bryant's resume addition

Steve,

the BOG receives nominations and makes the decision. That process should happen yearly. We'll explain during Homecoming, but there was a few years' "lapse" of alerting winners about their award.
